Welcome to WordCamp Vernon
We haven’t set a date for WordCamp Vernon 2017. Please sign up to our email list to receive up-to-date information and join our Meetup group and attend our monthly meetings at the Vernon Library on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
What Is WordCamp?
WordCamp is a conference for anyone that uses WordPress and wants to learn more about WordPress! Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other.
WordCamps are a great way to learn more about WordPress and sharpen your skills. It doesn’t matter if you’re a newbie thinking about starting a blog, a business owner looking to manage your WordPress website, or an I.T. professional looking for an easy to use, well supported content management system — WordCamp has something to offer you.
What Do You Get?
Aside from getting smart about WordPress, you can meet with other bloggers, designers and developers. You also get a free T-Shirt, free coffee, a great lunch and an excuse to come to the Okanagan (if you’re not lucky enough to already be here). Oh, and an after-party ticket to carry the WordPress conversation on into the evening.
How Much?
WordCamp is cheap cost effective. A full day of learning for our 2016 WordCamp was $30.
… What Exactly Is ‘WordPress’?
Short answer:
WordPress is a way to create websites. It allows you to set up a site add content, pictures, videos, ads etc. without being a programmer.
Technically, it’s an open-source content management software that runs about 25% of the world’s websites. Yes, it’s that big. The best part: it’s easy to use whether you’re a business owner who needs an easy website to manage or a web developer looking for a platform to build sites and applications in.
